Style of event: Medical Conference Dinner
Location: The Conservatory at Syon Park
Client brief: To provide a formal dinner and a Champagne canapé reception in a setting local to GSK offices followed by an auction at the end of the meal and entertainment for a group of international delegates
How Richmond met the brief:
The Conservatory at Syon Park was the perfect venue to hold GSK’s corporate dinner as their global headquarters, situated on the junction of the Great West Road (A4) is very near to Syon Park. The GSK logo was visible from The Conservatory which was a great talking point for guests. The venue fully met the requirements for the corporate dinner with its idyllic ‘greenhouse’ feel and stunning gardens.
Guests arrived to a Champagne canapé reception in the early evening of Wednesday 26 June, after a long day of conferences and meetings held elsewhere. It was a chance for them to relax and enjoy themselves. A jazz band played from the start of the reception right through until the end of the meal.
After guests had enjoyed their first two courses, they were treated to a mini dessert buffet which included a variety of mouth-watering desserts.
An Event Manager along with staff ensured the whole evening ran smoothly. We were able to set up for the dinner in advance which ensured a competent role out on the night.

Tournedo of salmon on radish & cucumber ribbons with blood orange dressing
Baskets of country breads and unsalted butter
Rump of lamb in a lamb jus with tomato confit, sauté courgettes and buttered new potatoes
Sweet potato, spinach and feta cheese strudel with French beans and beurre blanc (V)

Dark chocolate and pistachio foam shots
Mini rum and raisin cheesecake with blueberry compote
Hazelnut and chocolate mousse domes
Summer berry salad of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and blackberries with clotted cream and biscotti

‘Our conference dinner and charity auction was held in the beautifully unique Syon Conservatory, located close to our head offices. The evening was a great success complemented by the sumptuous food provided by Richmond Caterers and fantastic Jazz trio’.
